A waste disposal company in the UK approached us about improving the volume of leads and their presence in Google with respect to local business. After running a variety of costly advertising campaigns without much success – we suggested focusing on local search using a Google Business Profile.

THE PROBLEM
The company had set up and run a number of pay per click (PPC) campaigns in a variety of channels (Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads etc). Initially the campaigns worked well and generated a reasonable number of enquiries – however, costs began to increase, and of course, when campaigns were paused – the flow of enquiries dried up.

THE SOLUTION
Ultimately our recommendation was to create and leverage a Google Business Profile for the company. Whilst anyone can set up a GBP for a company, the process doesn’t tell you how to make the most out of it, nor does it tell you what is required to rank for the correct terms, and more importantly, maintain rankings for the terms that generate enquiries for your specific business. Once set up and running – the existing PPC campaigns were paused and no longer drained the marketing budget.
